Chat vs email campaigns
Messages is two-way chat tied to partnerships and proposals. Email campaigns send one-way announcements to segments you select in the seller panel. Use chat for negotiation, asset fixes, and sample coordination. Use email for launches, commission changes, and CPC invites. Commercial email still needs a working unsubscribe path the panel provides.
Use Messages when
One affiliate, one thread, negotiation, assets, samples, or clarifying commission after catalog update.
- Open Messages from Partnerships or the inbox.
- Keep numbers aligned with published My Products commission.
- Do not promise rates you have not published.
Use Email campaigns when
Broadcast launches, CPC invites, or catalog updates to a segment.
- Open Email campaigns.
- Pick a segment (category, partnership state, etc. as the panel offers).
- Link to Discovery or a product — one clear CTA.
- Send once; avoid duplicate blasts the same day.
Compliance
Commercial email needs unsubscribe and honest subjects. Chat is not a bulk spam channel.
- Include unsubscribe on promotional email.
- Do not move CAN-SPAM bulk content into Messages as copy-paste blasts.
What neither tool does
Neither auto-approves partnerships or changes MAP wholesale contracts.
- Change partnership state only in Partnerships.
- Change wholesale only on Resellers tab offers.
